Working with us

How do I start working with GLC HR?
Book a free 30-minute discovery call. You tell us what's on your mind, we tell you honestly whether we can help. If we're a fit, you'll have a written proposal within three working days.
Do you have minimum-term contracts?
No. Project work is fixed-scope and ends when it ends. Retainers run month-to-month with a one-month notice period. There are no long lock-ins.
What's your typical response time?
Same working day on emails received before 4pm. Urgent ER cases get a phone callback within four working hours. Retainer clients get priority same-day response as standard.
Do you work with very small businesses?
Yes. Some of our happiest clients are 5–15 person teams who only call us once or twice a year. We don't have a minimum engagement size.

Pricing & engagement

How much does an HR consultant cost in Norfolk?
Our HR Healthcheck starts at £450 fixed-fee. Casework is typically £120/hour. Fixed-scope projects are quoted up-front. A fractional HR partner retainer for a 30–80 person business sits between £1,200 and £2,800 a month.
Do you offer fixed prices?
Yes — for any defined scope of work (handbook, restructure, recruitment campaign, single ER case). For ad-hoc support and ongoing advice, we charge a transparent hourly rate.
Are travel and expenses charged extra?
Site visits within Norfolk are included. Further afield — mileage at HMRC rates and reasonable accommodation if required, always agreed in writing first.
Do you charge VAT?
Yes — GLC HR Consultancy Ltd is VAT-registered. All quoted prices are exclusive of VAT unless explicitly stated.

Where in the UK do you work?
Norwich-based, working across Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire and the wider East of England. Site visits anywhere within a 90-minute drive are included; further afield handled remotely or by arrangement.
Can you handle a live ER case urgently?
Usually yes. We hold reserve capacity for urgent grievances, disciplinaries, suspensions and sickness escalations. If we can't take it on, we'll signpost you to a trusted alternative quickly.
Do you support tribunal cases?
Yes — case strategy, witness preparation, bundle review, ACAS early conciliation, settlement agreement drafting. For courtroom advocacy we partner with employment law firms in Norwich and London.
Can you train our managers?
Yes. We run open and bespoke sessions on difficult conversations, performance management, first-time manager fundamentals and absence handling. In-person at your site or remote.

Credentials & data

Are you a regulated consultancy?
Gemma is a Chartered Member of the CIPD (MCIPD), holds a Master's in HR Management from UEA, and is accredited in workplace mediation. The business is fully insured (£2m PI), ICO registered, and follows ACAS-aligned process.
How do you handle confidential employee data?
Information is exchanged via encrypted file share, kept on UK-based encrypted storage, and destroyed at the end of an engagement (or earlier on request). Full data processing agreement provided as standard.
Are you GDPR-compliant?
Yes — registered with the ICO, with full data processing documentation, retention schedules and DPA template available on request.
Can I see your terms of service?
Yes — happy to share before signing anything. Plain-English terms with clear notice periods, no auto-renewals and standard professional indemnity coverage.
